A Short Bio

Allison M. Fox began her career in music over a decade ago in her hometown of West Hartford, CT. It was there that she first studied and fell in love with music performance while playing her primary instruments: drums and percussion. She decided to further her education at the University of Delaware where she was a member of Jazz Bands, Steel Bands, Symphonic Bands, Pit Orchestras, Percussion Ensembles, Marching Band, and The Jay Hoad Band. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Minor in Jazz Studies, Alli moved to New Orleans, LA where her musical experiences and influences grew. In addition to developing as a performer, it was there that she first discovered the field of Music Therapy. Alli moved to NY to partake in an internship at the Institute for Music and Health before running her own rehabilitative music interventions in long term care facilities, day programs, and clients’ homes. Today she is a Therapeutic Recreation Director and Music Specialist at the Alzheimer’s Resource Center in Connecticut. She also teaches music lessons privately, and free-lances with local musicians and groups such as Kate Callahan, and Strings Attached. While drumming remains her area of expertise, she also enjoys playing guitar, piano, bass guitar, and singing. Alli is currently a Master of Arts degree candidate at Lesley University where she is studying Expressive Therapies and Music Therapy with a specialization in Mental Health Counseling. She intends to become a board certified Music Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor and help people live healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives through music.

Mardi Gras!

Hey everyone,

As most of your know, I spent some time living and learning in the great city of New Orleans, LA.  It is in part due to my experiences there that I decided to bring Mardi Gras to my current community, Warwick, NY.  Only up here, we are doing things a little differently.  In the spirit of the Big Easy, there will of course be lots of great food, local live music, games, prizes, and giveaways... but our twist is that it's all for a GREAT local cause-- Warwick's own, Backpack Snack Attack.  So if you're local to the area and would like to participate, or anywhere in the world but would like to make a financial contribution, please check out our webpage: WarwickMardiGras.weebly.com for all the information!  Thanks for your support!
